An Iranian national has been jailed for 10 years on charges of spying for the UK.
Officials in Tehran said the suspect, who has not been identified, worked for the British Council.
Gholamhossein Esmaili, a judiciary spokesman, said they were sentenced after “clearly confessing to assignments with British intelligence”.
The British Council is Britain’s cultural agency overseas.
Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe, a British-Iranian woman who is being held in Tehran, is serving a five-year prison sentence for allegedly planning the “soft toppling” of Iran’s government while travelling with her young daughter.
She was arrested in April 2016, and her sentence has been widely criticised.
Iran does not recognise dual nationality.
